Patience Is In The Prize
Its morning, I am restless, sitting in my house hoping, wishing, and praying time will pass by faster! Call me old and completely crazy but in this time of stillness I’ve taken up the recent hobby of crocheting. I know what you’re thinking... WHO DOES THAT? I guess me now!
But I can easily affirm all of you that it is not nearly as easy as one would think. In fact, it’s close to impossible. After several attempts at trying to make myself a beanie, I’ve given up for today and I have yet to succeed in making anything really but it definitely made me realize that I lack a great deal of patience in my life!
In this time that the world is at a standstill, God has really been teaching me to listen to what he is speaking into my life and although his plan isn’t always clear at first or doesn’t make sense yet, and at times might be frustrating, I must remain in his word, seek him first, and wait patiently for his guidance, because in the end, remaining in him will always result in reward! The same goes for my crocheting project! I must stick to practicing in hopes of a successful and productive result!
Also! try something new! I encourage you all to find a new hobby or a productive activity to pick up on in this time of quietness within our community!I want to leave you with a couple verses that encourage me to keeping pursuing patience and equip me with the capacity to keep moving forward without hesitation or frustration! Romans 8:24-27, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”
